NEWSLETTER – APRIL/JUNE 2022

Welcome to our Spring Newsletter, it is lovely now we are starting to have the lighter days and brighter weather hopefully we can spend more time in our gardens preparing for the year ahead.

Spring Show

I hope you all enjoyed our Spring Show which took place on Saturday 2nd April, a huge well done to everyone who entered their fabulous exhibits, the hall looked fabulous.  It is nice to see so many people getting involved and having a go!  If you haven’t entered previously we have two more shows this year, we have the Summer Show Saturday 13th August and the Autumn Show Saturday 8th October there are always people on hand to help and assist.

Plant Sale

We are holding our annual plant sale at our meeting on Wednesday 4th May, if you have any plants or seeds you would like to donate for the sale it would be very much appreciated, if possible could you bring them along to the hall in plenty of time before the meeting starts.

Membership

Annual memberships are now due, if you haven’t already paid for your membership please speak to us at one of our meetings and we can renew your membership for you, Single £10 and Joint £15 which I am sure you will agree is fantastic value for 12 months membership.

Trips

We still have spaces on our Coach Trip to Southport Flower Show on Thursday 18th August the price for the coach including entry to the show is £35 per person, this is a full day at the show so is great value for money.

We also plan to have a trip to RHS Garden Bridgewater in July – details will follow and hopefully be available at the April meeting.

We have also been invited to Kens Blacks in Mollington for a visit to his Clematis nursery, the date is 2nd July at 2pm and is £8.50 to attend, again if you are interested in attending, Susan will have a list at the April meeting. This is limited to 20 places, own transport required.

Committee

We are on the look out for new committee members to join our fantastic group of volunteers, if we can have more people get involved it can help the Society, it is hard work but also great fun, further thanks and appreciation to Wendy who has kindly stood in on a temporary basis as our Chairman, but we are still looking for someone to take a more permanent role, if you are interested please speak to us, you will receive great support and keep the Society going.

Happy gardening and let’s hope the weather is kind to us, we look forward to see you at our next meeting.
