Thank you to everyone who took park in our Virtual Garden Show and Garden Trail, you all did a wonderful job, the photos are on the website for everyone to view.

I hope i didn't dirve you all too mad with the quizzes but hopefull it gave you all something to do during the lockdown.

Now we are back up and running and the monthly meetings have restarted and we can hold the Annual Show in real life?

Autumn Show - Saturday 16th October 2021

The Autumn Show is on Saturday 16th in the Village Hall as it used to be.  Hopefully we will have a really good show with lots of entries.  Have a good luck around and see what you have to enter.  We will be using the 2020 Autumn Show Schedule, entry forms need to be in by Wednesday 13th October.  In the schedule one of the drop off addresses is 15 Caughall Road, please do not drop off any entries here as Sub has now moved.  You can drop off entreis at 41 Upton Lane instead.  The schedule, if you can't find your copy is on the website for you to refer to or you can print off a copy.

Entry forms for the Children's classes can also be found on the website.

Whilst on the subject of entry forms, please can you use a seperate form for each person entering, including two people on the one form complicates the admin work when preparting the entreis, many thanks for your co-operation.

If you have never entered a show before do have a go, it is really good and there will be plenty of help to show your the ropes

Any questions please let one of the committe know and we will be very happy to help.  Good luck and we look forward to seeing your entries.

Challenges

The Spring Show challenges will be available at the October meeting, there will be 3 daffodil bulbs and 3 tulip bulbs.  The cost is £1.00 per pack of three bulbs.  There is a limited number so if you would like to enter the challenge please get your bulbs as soon as you can.

December Meeting - 15th December 2021

The December meeting tickets are now on sale and going fast, you can buy one at the next meeting or please let me know.  Don't forget it is a members only event and the tickets are £8.00 each.  We have Anthony and Susan Norman coming to talk to us about 'Colour through the Four Seasons'.  The competition is 'Four photographs of seasons in your garden'.  Following the talk there will be refreshments and no doubt the Christmas Quiz.

Rita has been able to carry the tickets over to next year for the Southport Flower Show so we are still able to go.  It is a really lovely Show which I am sure you will enjoy

Committee

We are getting ready for the AGM and we are looking for new Committe Members to join our existing members.  Without new helpers we will not be able to do all the great things that we do at the Society.   We work very hard but we do have a good time too!  Let me know if you are interested or want to know more about what each of us does.  Thank you.

Chairman

I have agreed to be Chairman again for a little while to help get the Society back up and running after the Pandemic, but if there is anyone out there who would like to take over the role permanently, please let me know.  It is a lovely role, very fullfulling and lots of fun with the support of the Committee.  This Society deverves to succeed, we are 75 years only next year and we need to keep going!

And finally ...

Lets hope we have a few weeks of fine autumnal weather to enable you to continue to enjoy your gardens for a little longer and get them ready for winter.

Please don't forget if you are spitting and plants or sowing any seeds, please could you do a few for the plant sale.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, a Happy one to you all and happy gardening

Wendy

Chairman
