NEWSLETTER – APRIL/MAY 2019
Winter seems to have returned which is disappointing. We have previously had some relatively warm weather which has led to spring flowers blossoming early and some glorious displays of daffodils.
Likewise, this Newsletter is a little early to enable us to publicise our next major event, the Spring Show.
You have all received the Show schedules which
details all the classes that can be entered. It is often surprising to wander round the garden or pantry or children’s playroom to find there are existing items that can be shown. So, go on give it a
go. At the very least you will contribute to the colourful displays at the Show and have a good chance of winning a prize. Entry forms must be received by Wednesday 27th March with
staging on Saturday 30th March between 08.00am and 11.00am.
Further in the future on Wednesday 1st May we have a plant sale combined with our
monthly meeting. Many of you at this time of the year will be pricking out seedlings and splitting plants that have grown too bulky. Please do not throw away your discards but pot them up and
bring them to the sale. Labelled of course.
Just a reminder about your membership renewal is now due, if you haven’t yet paid please see Debbie at the next meeting or at the Spring Show. If you change your email address during
the year please can you let Debbie know so that she can update your information and we will know that you are receiving your newsletters and any other information we send out to you.
Please don’t forget, if you would like to be on our committee let Sue Formstone know. We need new committee members to help run the Society.
There are lots of things that need to be done and it helps to share the load! If you feel as though you could help us we would be very grateful and would like to welcome you onto the committee.
Don’t forget to keep your eye on our website (the address is on the top of this newsletter), any news, trips etc will be
posted on there, along with our monthly talks and dates of our Shows. We look forward to seeing you all at the Spring Show
